Public transportation from Hamad International Airport in Doha is well-organised and offers several options for travellers:
Metro
The Doha Metro, inaugurated in 2019, provides a fast and efficient way to travel. From the airport, you can access the Red Line, which directly connects to central locations such as West Bay, DECC, Katara, and The Pearl-Qatar.
Travel cards for the Metro can be purchased from vending machines at the stations, with fares starting at 2 QAR (0.5 USD) for a single journey in standard class.
By using the metro, you can easily travel from the city to the MotoGP circuit. Simply go to the Lusail Metro Station (red line) and then use the official shuttle service that takes you directly to the circuit.
Buses
Several Karwa bus routes serve the airport, providing connections to key locations in Doha and beyond. Karwa Smart Cards, which are available from vending machines at the airport and other designated locations throughout the city, can be used for bus travel. These cards come in different types, including limited and unlimited ride options, with prices starting at 10 QAR (3 USD) for a limited two-ride card.
